FRA Relay Information:-
"We have had feedback from the Ian Hodgson Relay to say that some teams had a considerable gap between their pairs of runners. The rule stating that pairs of runners on legs 2 and 3 must stay together and be in comforable communication with each other will be strictly enforced by marshals on all manned checkpoints - both must reach controls together."
"Despite a polite notice about only accessing Barbon and Middleton Fell via access points and established footpaths there have been several incidents of runners off path trespassing and with dogs not on leads. This has upset local tenant farmers and they have threatened cancelling the event. In light of these issues we have agreed with the Roger and Pauline Bainbridge that anyone recceing the courses may park in the event parking field at grid ref 632858 and access the courses from there."
Langdale - results. reports have it as a tad slippy, but that hasn't prevented a double first for Rhys and Judith, and that becomes a treble if you add on the Ladies Team, Nicky being second home.
Withins Skyline:- results. Mr Woodhead is losing his reputation as that dour Yorkshireman. For once we all seemed to line up in some correct place, and no traditional shouts of "Get Back!". Instead of his usual cold, misty, wuthering clag, the sun was shining, almost hot, and easy to sit around the finish afterwards. David Lund must have anticipated the conditions, joining in with the Penistone Hill sunshine.
All gearing up for next weekend, the culmination of this year's campaign. That naturally refers to The Screes, the final event of Carshare League 2014. Others may be interested in the FRA Relays, on Middleton Fell, just below Sedbergh.
