Fri 28th Aug 2015 7:00pmOtherThornbridge Weekend
Annual club camping weekend at Thornbridge Hall for all the family, Friday evening to Sunday pm.

Usual fun and games including: Ashford-in-the-Water fell race (finishing in-the-water); kids fell race; Friday night something tasting; cake & cava in the Sat late afternoon sunshine (not guaranteed); BBQ Sat night (bring something to blacken, and an instrument for entertainment if you aspire to such things); three-legged orienteering; kids & big kids cyclo-cross race; plus plenty of opportunities to cycle on the Monsal trail, run off your hangover on Longstone Edge on the Sunday morning, or just hang out on the campsite.

All welcome, especially new members, and do bring kids and partners. The facilities are remarkably sophisticated for a DP event, including 'luxury' industrial kitchen, hot showers and loads of room to run around outside and in. £10 per adult per night/day and £5 for kids (under 5s go free). Please let Kirsty know if you plan to come by email

Sat 29th Aug 2015 11:00amDPFR raceAshford

In concert with the annual Thornbridge

camping weekend, DP's only credible White Peak race following the classic Ashford-on-the-water route. Starts as the village clock chimes eleven (which chime remains a matter of some contention), and finishes with the obligatory plunge in the water. Not sure whether a meaningful map of the route exists anywhere, but there's generally someone to follow, or an aging club elder to provide appropriate disinformation. Surprisingly enjoyable.

Wed 2nd Sep 2015 6:45pmDPFR raceBurbage Summer Sharpener 3

Subject to final confirmation by RO Dave Holmes. Meet Upper Burbage Bridge car park. Route/rules to be revealed on the night, but expect a bit of navigation (so be sure to bring a compass and pen). There's probably a small fee to enter and/or for waterproof map bags. Be prepared for midges, and a long and rambling introduction from the race organiser to boot. The latter notwithstanding, always a good night out. Sportsman afterwards.

Sat 7th Dec 2024 9:30amDPFR raceNorth Grain There and Back

Graham Berry's one-off 70th birthday race was such a gem that the webmaster and calendar agreed in the pub immediately following that we cannot let Graham's 80th pass without a repeat running.  With a winning time on a fine day in December 2014 of 2hrs 15mins, and some stalwarts taking over 3 hours, the 9am start certainly needs retaining for the increasingly more mature.  As to other arrangements - all in good time, folks, all in good time.
