Calling all Dark Peakers with dogs

A bit of an oddity, this, an email received a few days ago:

Hello, I'm sending this email out to all of the fell running groups that I can find as I think lots of you might be interested (hopefully!). We're holding a multi-sport canine event November 14th/15th in Clophill, Bedfordshire (camping available!). This event is a number of races which all include your dog. There are various options; canicross, bikejor, scooter and rig. Canicross is when your dog is in a harness, the runner is in a waist belt and the two are attached by an elasticated bungee line and you run like your life depends on it. Bikejor is a similar thing but the runner is now a cyclist and the dog is attached to your mountain bike! Scootering is like the bikejor but a stand-on scooter with big wheels. Finally, the rigs are like a husky sled but with wheels. These types of sports aren't massively different to your fell running (I don't think…). Our course isn't exactly a fell, but it's definitely not flat. We will have sections going through various fields, maybe a wood (route still being finalised) and it should be great fun. If any of your runners have participated in these sports before then please come along! If they haven't then there is no reason why they can't come along to our beginners race (this is only 2.5km so may be too easy?). Anyone is welcome to enter any race as long as they have suitable equipment. This can all be found at http://www.k9trailtime.com (there are other websites too). It may be your first opportunity to find people in this sport and add something a bit fun to your winters. Please pass this event information on to any of your runners that you think might be interested. All details can be found at http://www.pupmalup.co.uk/chicksands-chase-28-c.asp. All of the proceeds of the event will be going to Blue Cross for Pets :)

Thank you, Jess Horth Pupmalup
