From the B class winners:
After the trials and tribulations of Chris\'s journey North to meet me. First hitting two jams and then blowing a turbo hose requiring a trip to a Kendal garage to replace it, we still arrived at Tyndrum with plenty of evening left for beer and food. The weather was great on Saturday, if a bit hot at times.
Quite a few people getting sun stroke including my Chris who was suffering at both ends 2/3 of the way round. But he dug deep and we finished with a lead overnight. The midges & showers held off till late on to make it quite a sociable evening. Sunday was better for running with overcast skies though it was still humid. We had to keep pushing on all day as we saw no-one & so were effectively racing ourselves. It worked out in the end as we ended up winning by about 20 mins. Navigation would have been interesting over the two days had the usual clag been down. As it was most of the time the CP\'s could be spotted on the approach. Except for those hidden under rocks! Another well organised event and again I got to see completely different areas of hills I\'ve been over before.
From the Elite mixed winners:
We shared a lift to the LAMM with Jon Morgan and Al and Mike from the Hathersage Fat Boys; who spent a significant amount of time trying to persuade the three of us to join! Saturday morning marked the start of a fantastic weekend but the warm weather also made for tough conditions out on the hills. Karen and I had a great day 1 finish in 9th place overall and 1:15 down on the leaders.
Sunday was harder. We were both tired from day one and I was suffering from some seriously distracting chaffing! We ended losing time to finish 11th overall and 1st mixed team on the Elite course. Jon Morgan, running with Es Tressider, finished 9th, also on the Elite course.
