The start list is still pretty short. And the Women's field very small. But here is the first cut of the seeding for the Championships. Obviously there are a few changes to be made yet, due to the odd error, or outstanding debt. Those who feel put out by their seeding should seek comfort in any one of a number of possibilities: that I've made a mistake, I know something you don't, you've transgressed in some vague way, be it mocking my girth, my sense of fashion…or any number of similar issues. Otherwise you might just have had the poor judgement to do well when I happened to be paying attention. Failing that, I might just be feeling vindictive.
Start times will be along in the next week or so.
Neil Northrop - come on folks. Another year at the top!
Josh Williams - Maybe Josh is the man to knock Neil off the top?
Peter Davies - New man on the block, with some good results for his first year in the club.
Stuart Walker - One of the continental non-doms; back to demonstrate the virtues of European living.
Dave Lund - It makes me uneasy, Dave being to far down the list.
Richard Hunt - can he Worzzel his way past Dave?
John Boyle - Athos
Richard Bradbury - Porthos
Glen Borrell - Aramis
Paul Fauset - D'Artagnan?
Tim Rutter - The gang of four - Roy Jenkins
Kristian Groom - David Owen
Simon Mills - Bill Rogers
Charlie Elliot - Shirley Williams
George Yates - The Abbeydale Hipster himself
Dave Sykes - hopalong number one
Sam Williams-Duncan - too generous? Just right? Or cruelly seeded?
John Webber - I'm always too generous with John, for no reason I can quite work out….he's just understatedly solid I think.
James Boardwell - Another new boy. So probably another one I've been too generous with.
Willy Kitchen - Hopalong number 2 - He's playing that long game again….it almost worked last year.
Rob Moore - Some good solid results mid year…how's it going to be in November though?
Jonathan Batt - goodness only knows.
Jenny Caddick - First of the women's field and a welcome return to the scene
Paul Walwyn - a place that is more than warranted by past endeavours.
Dave Holmes - sometime overlord of this part of the field
Ian Winterburn - a very generous position for Mr mid-week-reccy. I wouldn't bet on you staying this far down.
Kirsty Bryan-Jones - hot on Jenny's heels
Tim Hawley - Newly Mr Retired
Rob Cole - Hopalong number 3
Loxely Crawshaw - will the summer off be a good, or bad thing?
Adrian Davis - Mr Marginal gains
Jane Crowson - first obviously victimised person…for winning last year…you'll probably move up the seeding a bit more yet!
Lewis Ashton - will adding a speed coach to my team count for anything?
Tim Ray - Which Tim will be out on the day? Tractor Tim, or Express Tim?
Neil Drake - Fresh from the Round Rotherham Run…..
Tom Westgate - I've got a feeling it'll be a course to suit Mr Westgate.
Jim Paxman - Mr newly retired number 2. Will the Spanish road trip have been a secret training trip? Or a weight training trip?
Roy Small - gracing us with his presence, for a few more of his (possibly HMRC) limited days in the UK.
Fiona Fullwood - Don't stop to shepherd these poor, lost, souls off the hill this time.
Graham Berry - Mr Honorary life member.
Dave Lockwood - chasing Mr honorary life member.
Trevor Matty - a rare guest appearance in the heart of Brown vest territory
Dave Arundale - quite possibly unreasonably victimised.
Ruth Batty - probably not been hard enough on Dr Mont Blanc.
Richard Hakes - can't take your bike on this one…but I've a feeling the no-car-cafe will be out there somewhere.
Maurice Musson - Go on Moz, give us your usual complaints.
Jim Fulton - always a dark horse. And one I plan to move up the seeding if I can come up with a vaguely passable excuse.
Simon Bacsich - is fatherhood going to be an inspiration of a training obstacle?
Barry Needle - first of the super-super-super vets.
Steve Martin - Otherwise known as Goofy from the Chew Valley.
Roger Baumeister - The film star! Always plugging away, possibly just to keep me on edge.
If you've yet to get your entry in, do it now. The later you leave it the more callous I am likely to be adding you to the list.
