Trev's funeral service will be held at 10am on Friday 31st March at Swanwick crematorium near Alfreton (just off the A38 at the Matlock turning), followed by a short burial ceremony at Middleton by Wirksworth cemetery (11.30am), and thence on to Matlock Golf Club for 12.15pm.
Fliss writes: "Trev definitely wouldn't want people wearing black, but the only thing I would request is for people to wear a hat......any sort of hat. As you've seen already he liked fancy dress and he has a number of daft hats......Top, bowler, boater etc. All I ask is that people let me know if they are coming so that I know for catering purposes. They can e-mail me at email " Alternatively, those of us running the Edale Skyline can shout out our requests to Fliss as we pass the Hope Water Station tomorrow :-)
Trev Milner finally gave up his long fight with cancer on Saturday 18th March. Trev was a regular and enthusiastic Derbyshire village racer, who also had the good sense to get away to races in the Lakes too when the opportunity presented itself. If the results function on the website are to be believed, he probably joined the Dark Side in 2004, and raced at least 263 times between then (Burbage Skyline) and May 2015 (Cressbrook Crawl) - after which he hopefully took advantage of the free post-race pint.
Trev's wry smile and dry wit will be missed by many members of the club; particularly perhaps those of us in the middle of the pack who enjoyed many amiable scuffles with him over the years. It is good to note that Trev was remembered at the start of the Wolf's Pit race last Sunday with a minute's round of applause.
Our thoughts are with Fliss and Trev's family.
