Grossglockner on Sunday 23rd July 2006

Simon and I arrived in the Austrian Alps to find he village we had chosen for our base was hosting the annual Gross Glockner race the following day. Loads of "razzmatazz" & carnival atmosphere.13K & 1500m uphill only. A few enquiries revealed that we could still enter so we duly did. There were 700 hundred runners, with Brits featuring in the 1st 10 - Martin Cox 3rd, Andrew Norman 9th & John Brown 10th. A big contrast to Holme Moss the w/e before!! but well worth doing.
