After some rocky (?) years without enough willing participants and lacking course marking wear-with-all, the Thornbridge adults cyclo cross was back. The field was a little more open this year as the young Savilles were absent.
It was nip and tuck for the fist few laps between Simon and Ian, to establish the pecking order at the very front. A notable mention must go to Tim, for coming 3rd on his road bike and not trashing it. Euan Patton seems to have taken an effortless step up, from the junior ranks into the senior field. He breezed away from some gnarled veterans off the start line and staying comfortably at the sharp end of the field through to the end. Richard B put in a very good performance on a bike he borrowed 10 minutes before the start. Neil lost his pith helmet in the early stages of the race. Ray put in a valiant performance on his first appearance at a club shindig, with dogged determination to successfully ride the technical decent section....that most were carrying their bike down. But possibly the most glory should be reserved for Sarah, in her first ever race!
Thanks to Lynn and Darryl for supply of the course marking materials and course design.
