Warting has been pretty popular on Wednesday evenings this winter, with 16 or 17 people braving the moors in the dark on several evenings. Provided people look after each other and no-one gets left behind alone, this is very encouraging. The higher numbers were also reflected in a grand turnout for the running of the night race this year. 17 last year, 24 this year!
The additions were mainly at the sharp end, with excellent runners from the younger members of the club gracing the field. This was the third and last running of this particular course - next year will be new, but of a similar level of challenge - so I thought that it would be interesting to see how this years runners did in previous winters, if they ran. It explains why Mr Holmes did a lot of moaning about this years event!
