Thu 16th Jul 2020 6:30pmDPFR raceTha Sprunce (Route 2 Race 8) TT

The route can be run at any time from the morning of Friday 10th July until the evening of Thursday 16th July, to coincide with Pie Night at The Sportsman. Having run your time trial, send the following information to me either by pm or via email to jim.paxman at blueyonder.co.uk Name, age category, date of run and your race time. I will publish the weekly results and a league table in the Carshare blog and on Facebook, including an age category handicap. The route changes every 4 weeks with the third route starting on Friday 17th July.

Route 2 starts and finishes outside the club hut at The Sportsman SK 28196 96140 and has seven checkpoints. It is 4.7 miles (7.6km) with 672’ (205m) of ascent, which would make it a BS. These are the checkpoints…

Don’t run along the A57 and don’t get run over when crossing it! In the woods of Rivelin Rough don’t fork left as you’ll end up at Rivelin Needle. On the attached map the path from CP6 back down to the A57 has been carefully added.

Sat 18th Jul 2020 6:45pmDPFR race Bole Hills Bad Boy

RO George Yates

This year’s Bole Hill Bad Boy will be run on Saturday 18 July. It’s 14.5 miles and 2,500 ft climb. A mid field time will be around 3 hours. Runners can start anytime on that date (ONE DAY WINDOW) and are asked to spread themselves between the following four start points to avoid grouping
1 Sportsman,
2 Ringinglow - lay-by opposite Norfolk Arms,
3 lay-by on A625 under Houndkirk Hill,
4 lay-by at north end of Stony Ridge (GR 276807).
Please try to run individually and if running with other runners please keep 2m distance and don’t run in groups larger than 6.
The route is as indicated on map below and is to be run clockwise (ie each loop run clockwise rather than in a figure of 8). The only flagging will be an arrow at GR 293803 (approx) to show the right turn for the most elegant ascent of Totley Bole Hill.
The Sportsman is open all day for food on Saturdays so Dave has asked that if parking at the pub we use the top car park rather than the pub car park as space in the pub car park has been designated for seating.
It would be good if you could let George know by email (email)by Thursday 16th July if you are planning to run, what time ish you are planning to start and where you are starting from so any obvious potential grouping can be avoided.

Sun 26th Jul 2020 11:59pmDPFR raceWhite stones & The Heart of Darkness TT

A longer race. A bit on yin and a bit of yang. More running than you might imagine in the first 2/3, but save a bit for the end!

Sat 7th Dec 2024 9:30amDPFR raceNorth Grain There and Back

Graham Berry's one-off 70th birthday race was such a gem that the webmaster and calendar agreed in the pub immediately following that we cannot let Graham's 80th pass without a repeat running.  With a winning time on a fine day in December 2014 of 2hrs 15mins, and some stalwarts taking over 3 hours, the 9am start certainly needs retaining for the increasingly more mature.  As to other arrangements - all in good time, folks, all in good time.
