Crookstone Crashout

Club races that appear in the calendar are primarily organised for the benefit of our members and are not normally open to non members. It is recommended that non-members who are interested in joining Dark Peak come along to one of our club runs in the first instance.
Date and Time: Sunday 22nd December 2019, 9:30am
Event type: DPFR race
Gridref: SK150891
League(s): Dark Peak Races League

From Mr Harmer: It is ,unless I have lost count ,the 72 nd running of the race ,shortly after my 72 nd birthday.

* This is the full route, there is short alternative

Start and finish Rowlee bridge 150890
Cp1 Crookstone knoll 145884
Cp2 Wallbend/ stream south of Deanhill 133887
Cp3 Hartshorn the Rock 114877 (as we always say, Hartshorn as per Harvey map, it's just a ring contour on the OS)
Cp4 gate / bottom of fence Grinds brook 114872
Cp5 3 pine trees south of the wall going up to the knoll 116867
cp6 blackden trig 120890 .
Any route back.
There will be 3 starts at 9-20/9-40 and 10. expected winning time of 75 minutes.good to have everyone back by 11-45 !?.Andy

P.S. Tim Hawley has previously been considered the cut off for slow people, so if you can't beat Tim, go in the early start.

* As some of us (yes, the webmaster is definitely in this group) might feel that the length of the course is excessive, there is an official short alternative, which visits 1, 2 & 3 then goes across the top to the trig thereby missing out Grindsbrook and the pine trees.
